UPCOMING WORK - PLEASE READ/COMMENT Hey all, wanted to let you all know of some of the ideas coming through the pipeline and get your ideas/feedback early on. In order or priority, here is my planned work. 1) Trick Todos – This isn't really a high priority but I'm only putting it here because I got bored one day and am almost ready to release this feature. This will be a list you can edit on your profile of tricks you're hoping to land. Each trick can be marked as public or private, allowing you to show only certain tricks you're working on in case you've got a secret banger you don't want others to know about. I know we all probably have a note in our phone of tricks we want to land so this is meant to serve that purpose. 2) Multiple sets on STG (skrrrt the game) – To give more variety to the ST I'm looking at implementing the ability to join the game with multiple sets. Results are currently calculated based on submission times, so I'd have to modify the game logic so that it also takes into account set upload time. To help clarify what I mean here's an example run through: Eli uploads 3 sets, w/ the last SET upload time of Tuesday @ 5pm Mos uploads 3 sets, w/ the last SET upload time of Thursday @ 11am Colby uploads 2 sets, w/ the last SET upload time of Friday @ 1pm etc. When the game turns over on Monday, Eli is immediately in the lead because he uploaded the most sets the fastest. In other words, you're now incentivized to join the game sooner w/ more sets. But this way there are many more sets available for every rider that participates. Also willing to consider riders who join the game late by penalizing them by 1 point (thoughts on this?) 3) BIU/SIU (back it up / stack it up) - Hyped as hell about this one! I'm going to work on adding back the old BIU/SIU games we used to play on the forums. For those unfamiliar, here's the basic idea: BIU - rider uploads Trick A to start, next rider (whoever can upload the fastest) has to land that Trick A and set Trick B. Next rider has to land Trick B and set Trick C. etc. SIU - rider uploads Trick A to start, next rider (whoever can upload the fastest) has to land that Trick A and set Trick B. Next rider has to land TrickA AND Trick B and set Trick C. etc. In both games, after n number of days passes with no new sets, the game starts over. With these games there is no registration process, join whenever you want! 4) Trick Dictionary - This is going to be a BIG undertaking and will certainly not be ready in the near future, but one that I think will be really cool and helpful for the community. Essentially I'll be working to create an interface that allows users to propose new tricks to be added to the trick dictionary. (To begin it will be a lot of carry over from the existing trick dictionary excel sheet in circulation) As admin I will curate the tricks, tag them appropriately, and then release them as public domain. Once public, anyone can suggest edits to the trick (e.g. update the description, tags, first landed by, etc). Again, as admin I will review the updates and either accept or reject them. Riders can also upload themselves doing the tricks directly to skrrrt for admin approval. If approved, the trick will then be made visible so you can see a video of the trick as well. I'm thinking of allowing up to three videos of any given trick, with priority being given to tricks landed the cleanest, filmed in the best quality, multiple angles, etc. FYI admin approval here is not because I don't trust people, I just want to keep things clean and make sure the right data is added. I'll consult others if I myself have questions about anything - and as mentioned before users can suggest edits to existing tricks at any time. OTHER: - I'm working on adding a flag to a user profile where a user can mark themselves as willing to host. Riders willing to host can then be filtered on the map. If a rider is looking to be hosted, then can click a button that will shoot an email to the potential host letting them know. If these ideas sound nice to you, please consider supporting my work at patreon.com/skrrrt. I'd love to continue growing the community and making the app the best it can be but working on it does take up a significant amount of my time. I have other interests / career goals that I don't want to sleep on, so donations go a long way in motivating me to continue this work and building the community. Thanks!
