For Ivar
I’m thinking about doing a video for every stepover variation (sort of like another rollopedia chapter), but there’s a couple that are insanely difficult and I don’t know that I could do them. Ivar, im wondering if you’d be interesting in tackling this one. It’s an inside-outside reverse Ludwig stepover (I think). I also think it’s an nbd?

Frequently Asked Unicycling Questions
As a unicyclist, it is hard to go out without copping at least a few questions from the ever curious, so I've compiled answers to the more frequently asked questions to head them off at the pass.

New Year Street Ride
Hello everyone!
Jakob and I went for another fun winter ride yesterday. The outdoor riding being limited for the next few months here in Canada because of the snow, we revisited the other indoor skatepark in the Montreal area.
Here’s a short edit of the ride: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=hLzHdwDH6PA
Happy new year y’all!

One Foot Coasting Tutorial
If anyone was interested in learning how to coast without having to figure out the technique from scratch, here is everything I know from practicing the skill obsessively for the past 2+ years:
https://youtu.be/kbPOb6hWMcg?si=st6m_ZUdCLQUjzot
Definitely my most high-effort video so far, but hopefully it helps make coasting click for those who are interested!
Also, for those who already know how to coast, I would love your comments and feedback about what you agree/disagree with so I can make this a one-stop reference for the skill. Enjoy!

Street Ride Edit
Hey skrrrt rats!
Jakob was in town last weekend and we went for our last outdoor street ride before the winter, followed by a Taz skatepark sesh.
He put together an edit with the footage we got, and here it is.
Enjoy! ☺️

Vloged my sesh like Dale
Really love vlog style uni vids many people's making these days! Good to hear different point of views of riding from different style & level riders. So I made a video about a sesh of mine.

New Street Vid!
Hey skrrrt folks,
Here’s my new vid. I’ve been collecting these clips for about 2 years. The title is a reference to the fact that I took a 10 year break from riding. Getting back into it with a 30+ body has been interesting.
I can’t (or am too scared) to do many of the tricks / go as big as I used to. On the other hand, I’ve had a lot of fun learning some modern tricks that I never even knew were possible back in the day and developing a style of riding that works within my limitations.
Enjoy!

Is this normal?
I was practicing sidespins and somehow my crank ripped the bottom of my shoe. Does this kind of thing happen often? Should i just try to tape or glue my shoe back together?

Discussing Skateboarding with Neuroscientist Andrew Huberman
I stumbled upon a cool interview with a neuroscientist (and skater) about skateboarding.
https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=H0mHX8oPbLE
I thought some of you may enjoy it as well, there are clear parallels with street unicycling.
I’ve never really agreed with the concept of the uniqueness of a sport community though. No offense to any of you, but I’ve heard people practicing scooter, inline, parkour, BMX, all say how great, special and welcoming their community was, just like I hear at every unicycling event I go to. A sense of belonging, whatever the discipline, is all that matters I would say. But apart from that, I think Huberman brings interesting techniques, for example for dealing with fear and anticipation, that I’m eager to try myself.

Flansberrium Product Testing
Allô!
Jakob and I try to ride together more or less once a month to keep us motivated. No pretention, no big tricks, just good fun.
Last weekend, I went to his place and we tested some new Flansberrium products. I also picked up my brand new une Jakob had just finished building, and I love it so much! It’s a throwback to some of my first unicycles, almost 20 years ago.
We filmed a few clips during the ride and Jakob slapped them together. Here they are, enjoy! 😊

Going flatstyle
I just assembled a new 20" une and it signals an official end of my trial years, to instead take up learning flatland/flatstyle. My body just didn't feel right anymore with riding trials and taking big impacts, and on top of that a following L4-L5 disc protrusion in 2023 (during yoga!) just made it clear I won't be tucking with such peace of mind anymore so it's best to switch lanes to a discipline with less impacts.
Now, that the disc has healed, I also shifted my mindset about sport and movement from needing it to be "extreme", to being content and excited from just the movement itself. I mean, you can get so creative and move in many more ways, using different and possibly more muscle groups in a more simmetrical way than doing only jumps.
Lately, I really started feeling joy while expressing myself through dance and taking up flatstyle just makes total sense now (but this idea has been brewing in me since 2020). To me, riding styles of Pablo Rodriguez Codes, Ivar Christenson and Ayrton Vasquez are dancing on and with unicycles, and I absolutely adore that notion and I aspire to take up this new discipline and way of thinking.
Here's to a new decade and new "trials"!
