Alright got a question for you. I'd really love to up my coast game, but one thing that I struggle with on just straight up one footed coasting is keeping my frame foot from sliding off sideways. From the looks of it I would say your frame is probably among the best designed frames for coasting since it's got the extended forks that stick out the top a bit. Would you agree with that? Any tips on technique here? I'm almost amazed more riders haven't spoken up about this because in my opinion it's the hardest part of a one-footed coast. Theoretically speaking I feel like if I could glue my foot to the frame and not worry about it I could coast as long as I want, but this is my one major setback

I'm rubbish at coasting... however I feel you should get some 5-10 shoes to help with this Colby! Grip galore.

I can relate to this problem when trying to coast other unis from people who mainly does flat with low seats. I feel that the higher the seat is the easier coasting is. But maybe that is just because I always did freestyle and I am used to it. I never struggled with the foot slipping off when practicing on my regular setup. I learned to coast on an eclipse 90mm frame, and I now use the 100 powersquare for freestyle xD Maybe raising your seat a tiny bit while learning would help you improve your coast?🤘

coastconvo! im in ✋ gonna try stick to point format or i could easily write multiple pages. 1. crown shape, essential for sure, whats the best is harder to say, my love is the equinox, the rounded horizontal bar gives a surface for my foot that comes in at a back down angle, compare to mad4one where my foot gets a corner from the same angle, less surface=less friction 2. angle, pablo told me to push down and back and it unlocked something for me. trouble with sliding off? maybe we can add a little in to help the foot stay on. push down back and in, experimenting with the angle and how you think of it can change a lot, as well as the foots position 3. seat height, i agree with august and ima add a theory of why, on top of changing the foots angle, the seat height also changes the distance between your two contact points on the uni, the seat and the crown, making a longer lever that more easily can pull the wheel back into centered right under you, noticeable also in scuff imo

4. scuffs, may be easier or equaly easy to onefootcoast and definetely feeds back to it. saying this because i get the impression a lot of people expect or assume the sitting coast to be the easier one, but the problem you describe of slipping off the crown is a good example of something scuffs dont really struggle with 5. shoe, sam pitches the 5-10, ive never ridden it but what i hear and see its a hard shoe? Maybe it has awesome grip but again i wanna say that more surface gives more grip and a softer shoe can get more surface Around the crown as well as a closer feel and understand of that grip, totally get if you dont wanna go almost barefoot for sejtripples though :p 6. finally about grip, griptape for the crown? and for the seat, theres handson vs hands off option. personally i can always get good help from a hand on, if the seat is comfy and well curved you can lock in enough with your butt for the hand to potentially help more in the air as a counterbalancingthing. with handlesaddle its clearly the oposite situation for me my butt can not lock in so hand on handle helps lot, however you do it, your contact points need to be good to read the uni and to steer the uni

perhaps you’re just a natural twofootcoaster? there’s no slipping when you have a squeeze from both sides

@Colby Thomas , The type of frame definitely helps. I like this frame for coasts but it hurts for everything else haha. Honestly haven't had this problem with any other frames besides the Newest KH frames. I would highly recommend applying some real durable and grippy skateboard griptape to your crown - this really helps me. All my frame have this grip and it does help a lot. Other than that, I honestly don't have this problem much. I would say having your toes on the frame more than the ball of your foot helps more, but even then it's not a main concern for me for some reason.

Also, keeping one hand of the handle to push some of your weight into the saddle instead of it all going into your foot might help. I do this to take pressure off my leg that's pushing on the frame and it's more comfortable so maybe this would also help you?

And if you're trying to do manual tricks - for me personally I find that 1 foot coast is harder to hop into, but easier to balance, while scuff coast is easier to hop into but harder to balance.
