Hey peoples. We are currently exploring possibilities of hosting an online flat contest at RideOne and our plan is to do actual flatland battles in a live stream. For that to work properly every participant would have to meet some requirements and the question for us right now is: Are enough riders interested in joining and/or have the energy/spot/technical means to make this happen. This contest should be fun for everyone involved but we do plan on making it a great show for the viewers as well so we want to make sure the stream works smoothly considering video quality, internet connection, etc. That being said, these would be the requirements for a nice competition: - a riding spot that is weather proof - good internet connection at that spot - a tablet or laptop with decent video quality for video calls (or even better -> a setup with an actual camera) - having Discord (probably) installed on that device - free time on a Sunday in February or March around 12:00 to 14:00 UTC (exact date to be determined) - able to film a 1min prelim run. in the same spot and with the same camera that is going to be used in battles - doing a test video call if you would advance to finals (to check the connection and video quality). If that test doesn't work out for a rider, they can't advance to the battles. (again: to make sure the stream is fun to watch) - and probably some more things I am now forgetting So. If you would be interested in joining such a contest and have the dedication to try and make it as great as a show as we can, please let us know! If enough people would actually try to make this work, we will go ahead with it. This video is a test we did a few weeks back to check if it is feasible. So it could look somewhat like this.
