I was practicing sidespins and somehow my crank ripped the bottom of my shoe. Does this kind of thing happen often? Should i just try to tape or glue my shoe back together?

That has happened to every single pair of Vans I’ve had

I always used duct tape to make them last another few weeks

i also avoid vans and vulcshoes because of this

Do you have suggestions for better shoes? I really like the vans but if this happens often then its no good

Etnies shoes are quite good if you take a model that looks totally différent from vans.

adidas vl court is my goto for years now, VL court 3 is what its called these days but i didnt have any issue with court 2 if thats what you can find
theyre pretty soft, as in, in these days i like them already when theyre brand new, i used to like them after riding in a little bit. but i guess my preference change so now theyre a little bit on the soft side because perfect when brand new means they quickly run slightly too soft

i still like them, see what you think, id also take recomdations for similar stuff just sliightly more rigid

Traditionally I always went with Nike high top cup soles like Dunk, Jordan or air force. My last few pairs have been DC Pensford high though which are far cheaper and have lasted really well!

I like cupsoles more than vulcshoes for ridind. They tend to rip between the rubber and leather parts, but are easier to fix. Glue is good but it's better if you know how to sew. Sew the sole on with waxed thread and they'll be super firm. I've also done this on a pair of Converse.
