Moment hub threads
Does anybody know how deep the threads go on a moment hub? So ive just stripped a few bolts switching cranks on this old moment hub. First i thought i just had bad threads in the hub on one side, and i was running through them a bit with a tap ive got. The longer model crank bolt is often barely long enough to hold rollo and crank, so ive got this strategy of pulling the crank all the way in to the spacer without rollo, before taking the bolt out again and remounting with the rollo, so i dont have to pull hard on a few threads you know 🤷♀️ Anyways this time the first two or three rounds of the bolt stripped on both sides when i used it to pull the crank in, wasting a bolt just for that. Ran the tap a bit in before putting a new bolt with the rollo but now im just curious why this strategy didnt work as it has done on my hubs from nimbus/m41. Prob should have checked how deep i tapped it before going for it with the bolt but i wonder now if the threads actually arent as deep on this moment hub or if they happen to be broken way in there on this old hub 👾 any knowledge or feedback on my work here apreciated 💜💜 (might keep these 125s on the hub forever now to not risk more bolts lifes ☠️)
